Seeta Shah is a UK trained Speech and Language therapist with over 15 years of experience working with children with complex communication and feeding needs. She qualified as a Speech Therapist from City university London in 2009 and completed a specialist Dysphagia and feeding qualification at University College London in 2011.
Seeta specialises in working with children who have a Pediatric Feeding Disorder (6 months – 17 years old). She provides therapy to support children who have oral motor difficulties impacting on the ability to chew/drink, transfer food and safely swallow and those with sensory difficulties impacting on the quantity, texture and range of food eaten.
Within her scope of work she provides:
- Assessments of eating and drinking skills alongside parent consultation
- Intervention and strategies to manage and develop eating and drinking skills
- Intervention and strategies to increase the range of foods eaten
- Home advice and training for parents and carers
- Multidisciplinary liaison to manage feeding and swallowing needs.
Seeta also provides assessment and intervention for children with a range of speech, language and communication needs including:
- Speech sound disorders
- Receptive and expressive language delay
- Stuttering/fluency
- Acquired speech and language disorders such as aphasia, traumatic brain injury-cognitive communication, dysarthria
She believes that consistent collaboration between parents and multi disciplinary professionals is key to supporting and developing the child’s skills.
